The first cohort of the certification program “Climate Neutrality and Green Transition,” organized by the Energy Academy of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas (IFTUNG), has officially commenced for university students and postgraduates.
In their welcoming speeches, IFTUNG Rector Ihor Chudyk and Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk emphasized the importance of acquiring modern knowledge on low-carbon energy transformation, combating climate change, and personal development opportunities.
They also presented unique global case studies on the use of alternative energy sources, the shift away from fossil fuels, and discussed current trends in sustainable development within the oil and gas industry and the energy sector as a whole.
The first session, dedicated to the UN Global Compact and ESG strategies, was conducted by Oleh Yaroshenko, the academic director of the “Climate Neutrality and Green Transition” program.
The program consists of eight lectures, essay writing, and testing. Upon successful completion, participants will receive certificates from the Energy Academy of IFTUNG. The program features experts from organizations such as the State Enterprise “National Center for Greenhouse Gas Emission Accounting” (Ministry of Environmental Protection) and the State Fuel Company “MASMA” (Ministry of Energy).
